Former Dragon Age series executive producer and current Dragon Age: The Veilguard consultant Mark Darrah says that The Veilguard marks the first entry in the series with combat that’s legitimately enjoyable.

“What I see in Veilguard is a game that finally bridges the gap,” Darrah said in a recent interview with Game Informer. “Uncharitably, previous Dragon Age games got to the realm of ‘combat wasn’t too bad.’ In this game, the combat’s actually fun, but it does keep that thread that’s always been there. You have the focus on Rook, on your character, but still have that control and character coming into the combat experience from the other people in your party.”

Tango Gameworks is dead; long live Tango Gameworks Inc. That’s the new “reborn” name of the Hi-Fi Rush studio, which is now officially a part of PUBG publisher Krafton Inc. Tango began last year under the Xbox Game Studios umbrella before a tumultuous few months saw the developer almost shuttered permanently before Krafton stepped in.

On X, Tango announced the studio’s “new start” earlier this week and said it’s “excited to continue crafting games that bring joy to players around the world.” This is the first post from the official Tango account since May 7, 2024, when the developer stated that it would “close.” That message was a result of Tango being one of four studios that Microsoft shut down at the time, which also included Redfall’s Arkane Austin.

However, in August, Tango was saved by Krafton, with Hi-Fi Rush rights being acquired as well. The studio was started in 2010 and known for the survival-horror series The Evil Within, which will apparently stay with Microsoft. Hi-Fi Rush 2 was being worked on before Microsoft closed down Tango, though the sequel isn’t officially on the way. Krafton realizes Hi-Fi Rush 2 might not make any…

Big news for Grand Theft Auto VI today, as Take-Two has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will be released in Fall 2025. Previously, the game was targeting a release at some unspecified point in the year. This could be a delay for GTA VI, as Take-Two had previously indicated a release earlier in 2025.

“Our outlook reflects a narrowing of Rockstar Games’ previously established window of Calendar 2025 to Fall of Calendar 2025 for Grand Theft Auto VI,” Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said. “We are highly confident that Rockstar Games will deliver an unparalleled entertainment experience, and our expectations for the commercial impact of the title continue to increase.”

Two normally paid games on Steam are currently available for free to keep forever. In one, you’ll fight against hordes of creepy monsters as a flying pizza. The other is a tactical RPG set in an alternate science-fiction Berlin where the wall never fell.

Pizza Hero is like Vampire Survivor with a shoot-’em-up twist. You’ll level up your jetpack pizza with toppings that give you both passive and active attacks. Waves of enemies approach you. It’s your job to kill as many as possible and stay out of their way as you get more powerful. Pizza Hero is free for a limited time. It’s also worth noting that the game does include microtransactions.

Sayonara Wild Hearts is celebrating its 5-year anniversary today, September 19, 2024. Below, we examine how it feels to revisit the game and its soundtrack time and time again.

The more time passes, the more nostalgic I grow for Sayonara Wild Hearts. The “pop album video game” by developer Simogo–known for the likes of Year Walk and 2024’s moody Lorelei and the Laser Eyes–is an atemporal arcade cabinet. The structure of bite-sized levels, paired with a steep scoring system engulfed me back in 2019 and hasn’t let go since. The presentation is encouraging enough to return to it sporadically. Five years later, however, I’m still surprised by how the experience gains more significance with each revisit.

Sayonara Wild Hearts is one of the few games that have remained installed on my PC since launch. At first, I’d hand-pick one or two levels whenever I had some downtime for a quick play session of something other than a roguelike. Over time, it became my go-to escape to clear my head or wind down after a long week. Sometimes I play it from start to finish, which can be done in about an hour. But even when I’m not, I always finish th…
